Track debris will be one of the innovations in future sims, I'm sure. I don't know what racing games you have played before, but I don't think you'll find many with rocks or tire marbles on the track (unless you Rally all the time View image: /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif ). OK I tried the F1 2002 demo and it's very nice, but you get the impression of racing over a pool table I have never seen such a smooth track in my life - there no bumps, rocks or tire debris on track - it takes away from the realism. It's called VROC-F2 and you can find it at YahooGroups: There are a lot of guys there with a ton of experience/knowledge who can help you out if you need it. There is a club that races F2 (Intermediate Trainers) online a few times a week and has many Euro friendly times. You also might wanna take a look at racing GPL online: It works very well. Plus, there are tons of add-ons (I've got over 160 tracks on my PC).

An XBox adapter, might be in the works though.Īlthough GPL does look a bit dated, with all the updates, it doesn't look bad. View image: /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif It works with the PSX (although it's useless on GT games because of the huge deadband that Sony put in). Sony has an exclusive deal with Logitech. Third, they have the Performance Pedals - which are exceptional.įWIW, the AL wheel does NOT work with the PS2. Second, the have the shifter, which you can get to work with your Logitech if you get the USB version. Go to their message boards and you will see that most of the people who work there post every day. First, they have the best customer support - bar none. AL has a few things going for it that other companies do not. My Logitech Formula Force still does me well, and it's about three years old.ĪCT Labs does, I believe, have a distributor in Europe. You could get the Thomas Super Wheel, but it's waaaay expensive.

The "feel" of the car on the road just doesn't seem correct.Īs for the wheel, the Logitech MOMO is popular. The driving physics aren't as good as GPL and F1 2001.
F1 2002 FOR PC PATCH
A patch by Ubisoft was promised but nothing has eventuated (the game has been out for a year or more). It was frustrating and wrecked a good race. They would frequently ram you from behind at high speed when going into the corners.

F1 2002 FOR PC DRIVERS
The stupidity of the AI drivers was one of the games' major weaknesses. Runs very well - graphics are beautiful and produce high fps on even slower systems, controller setup worked well, and there were few bugs. Try the F1 2002 demo ( or here) if you want.į1RC is/was great fun. The game should be out by the end of May, though EB says it'll be getting it on 16th June. You could go for F1 2001 and download a smorgasboard of cool updates.
F1 2002 FOR PC MODS
But it simulates the 1967 season (though user mods have updated all sorts of things to it). The best sim would be Grand Prix Legends.
